Walkersville Chapter Visit :)

Good afternoon Maryland FFA!
I am so very excited because I just got home from my second chapter this week. Today we went to a school very near and dear to my heart, the Walkersville FFA Chapter. It seems like yesterday I was in the shop learning how to weld and in the greenhouse working with the plants. Becky, Monica, Bridget, and I worked very hard today instructing classes from three different teachers. Though not everyone was an FFA member we certainly hoped that they learned a lot. Some of the students became practically Jeopardy pros, wowing us with all their new knowledge. A lot of the students liked my crazy clothes, but Mr. Stull would have liked my purple boa to have Virginia Tech colors instead. It was really great for me especially to go back and see all of my old teachers and former chapter members- I definitely missed them! I even managed to not embarass my younger brother during the school day :) Thanks again to all of the members for their great participation and to my teachers- Mr. Stull, Mrs. Welty, and Mrs. Poffenbarger/ Harshman! Love you all!

Yours,
Kelsey

Smithsburg Chapter Visit

Hey there everyone!
I can't believe that Christmas is only a week away! I know we all keep saying it, but where has the time gone? Well the state officers have been busy- National Convention, last Regional Leadership Conference, Farm Bureau Convention, and preparing for finals. Now we are doing chapter visits in full swing. I was very happy to do my first visit today! Megan, Bridget, and I had a wonderful visit with the Smithsburg chapter! Through the working with the ag. classes of the three advisors, we worked with about 150 students! We talked about the various components of FFA and played a jeopardy review game. They got rather competitive and loved to ring-in with their animal noises :) We also did relay races, and talked about trust and teamwork with the freshman classes. With one class we played "Honey if you love me," and everyone got a kick out of Megan's antics. At the end of the day we were invited to participate in their chapter meeting. We discussed different ways of getting the members involved and developing their own SAEs. I just wanted to thank the members and students for making our day at Smithsburg so memorable! Thank you for your valuable time and we cannot wait to come back! Keep in touch and see you soon!

Love,
Kelsey
