March Chapter Visits
Hello MD FFA!
I hope that everyone is enjoying their spring break; I know that I'm certainly looking forward to having a couple days off. This past week has also been jam- packed with chapter visits!
To start off with we traveled to Easton High School on Tuesday. Megan, Michelle, and I did our teamwork and FFA knowledge workshops. We also enjoyed Easton's legendary enthusiasm. They had some of the most creative things for "Honey, If You Love Me" as well :) The next day Bridget, Megan, Monica, and I went to Linganore. We were there for six classes and participated in their club day, which had about 70 students! They had awesome dance skills and Mr. Hawthorne certainly shook it out for Hippety-Hop!
On Thursday Becky, Megan, and I went to the Damascus FFA Chapter. We were very glad to visit them, as they are the only FFA chapter in Montgomery County. There we also did the teamwork and FFA history workshops. That evening a couple of us attended Region 2 Prepared Speaking and Parli- Pro. I listened to the senior prepared speeches and they were all fantastic! I learned a ton! Congrats to all the winners!
And last but not least, today Bridget, Megan, Monica, and I were at Walkersville High School, my home chapter. We tried some new workshops concerning SAEs and communication. The students did a really good job, considering this was our first time trying them. Tomorrow we are heading to Francis Scott Key High to teach their students about FFA.
I just wanted to thank all of the students and the teachers for hosting us this past week. We felt welcome at all of the schools and think that the students had excellent participation! I hope that everyone has a safe and happy spring break, and we look forward to seeing you in April!
Love,
Kelsey
